This Virtual world was made using Unity. I started making it by looking through the assets that were already downloaded, followed by me searching specific objects in the search menu and then downloading the assets that accompanied them. I then would continue my design of the world with the assets that came along with this and continue this cycle.
Some of the difficulties I came across included sizing everything and making sure there wasn’t methods for the player to accidentally fall off. Also the lighting was a big issue. I did a sort of dungeon/ medieval theme which required a dark tone to the world, yet this also meant that it was very hard to see around the actual world. Adding lights would then cast very dark shadows which made it almost impossible to see. I fixed this by adding point lights and spotlights which allowed me illuminate certain areas preventing pitch black corners. I also left the ceiling open and made the world a volcanic themed wallpaper to add some aesthetic visuals. I then added some battle music to add to the theme that the virtual world had.
